Icelandic writer-director Ragnar Bragason’s dark, brooding ensemble drama Börn (Translation: Children) shot in black-and-white observes the intertwining lives of a struggling mother and her son, the son’s schizophrenic best friend and a debt collector estranged from his underworld community. The relationship between children and parents is explored in a gripping and moving journey exposing the lives of those existing on the fringes of society in Reykjavik.
