INTERNATIONAL FILM SCREENING

Icelandic writer-director Ragnar Bragason’s dark, brooding ensemble drama Börn (Translation: Children) shot in black-and-white observes the intertwining lives of a struggling mother and her son, the son’s schizophrenic best friend and a debt collector estranged from his underworld community. The relationship between children and parents is explored in a gripping and moving journey exposing the lives of those existing on the fringes of society in Reykjavik.

The film was introduced in person by director Ragnar Bragason, talking about the film, his inspirations and challenges. Following the screening Ragnar Bragason took also questions from the audience.
